CSVs

If you are like most RevOps teams you are no stranger to pulling together dozens of ad-hoc spreadsheets.

Fortunately with AccountAim, you can centralize all of these spreadsheets, connect them with your live data, and keep everything up-to-date in real-time.

Step 1 - Navigate to the Warehouse

All of the CSVs that you upload can be found in your Warehouse.

Simply click on "Warehouse" in the nav bar to see your previously uploaded CSVs or get started uploading a new one.

Step 2 - Add a new Record Source

To add a new CSV file into AccountAim we are going to follow a similar process to connecting all of our other data.

In the "Warehouse", click on "Add New".

A modal will pop-up where you

For CSV files, the Source is going to be Local.

tip

A good rule of thumb is to standardize naming for all of your CSV uploads.

Step 3 - Upload your CSV

To import an existing CSV, click on "Import".

Here you can select the CSV from your local files that you want to upload into AccountAim.

Once the file has been selected, click "Import" and you are all set.

You should now see your CSV file as a new Record Source.

Step 4 (optional, but encouraged) - Associate your CSV with your other data sources

Now that we have all of our data in one place, let's start to make it even more useful by connecting it to all of our other data in AccountAim.

To do this, we are going to navigate to the "Record Fields" in the CSV you just uploaded. You can think of Record Fields as the column headers for your CSV.

Here, we are going to Associate or tie together our new CSV to the other data we have in

First, we need to select the field we are going to use as our key.

tip

In a lot of cases your key will be an Account ID or Opportunity ID if you are using Salesforce or a Company ID or Deal ID if you are using HubSpot. You can also use Company Name or email addresses if you don't have a unique ID.

Simply navigate to the Record Field that is your key. Click on Associations and select the Record Source you want to tie your CSV file too. Most commonly, this will be your CRM.

Next, select the field from this Record Source that matches your key. This will likely be an Account ID or Opportunity ID field.

tip

A data best practice is to use a unique key or identifier for Associations. These are typically referred to as a foreign key.
